Our multi-step procedure ensures that each rug is identified and cleaned based on its unique characteristics:
We inspect the rug to check for fiber content, wear patterns, needed repairs and pet stains or odors. Through this process, we identify the most effective cleaning method for your unique rug.
We remove all the dry soil by working on both sides of the carpet. Did you know that your average 9×12 area rug can hold 87 pounds of dry soil before looking dirty?
Using water and detergents approved by Wools of New Zealand and the Carpet and Rug Institute we gently clean your rug paying special attention to problems areas caused by wear, stains or pets. We will also fully submerse your rug if necessary.
Using what we call the indoor river process, we use only clean water to thoroughly rinse the rug on both the front and back to ensure complete removal of soils and detergent.
We then use specifically designed extraction equipment to draw all the moisture from the rug thereby eliminating any mildew, rot or dye migration from occurring.
Once the cleaning is complete, we inspect and add the finishing touches. Inspection looks for any missed stains or odors and needed repairs. The finishing touches include (i) grooming to set the nap in the direction it was originally knotted and (ii) to separately clean and comb any fringe.
